Bee Hive Removal in Exterior Wall – Boynton Beach, FL

Bee Hive Removal in Exterior Wall – Boynton Beach, FL

Project Overview

The issue involved four separate bee hives that had established themselves within the exterior wall of the building. This type of infestation is common in Florida commercial structures where small gaps allow bees to enter and expand colonies undetected.

As activity increased, the risk to customers and staff became a concern. Immediate action was needed to remove the hives and prevent further expansion within the wall cavity.

Challenges

This project presented several unique challenges:

  • Multiple active hives within a confined wall space
  • The need to carefully locate and remove each section of hive
  • Ensuring the queen bee was identified and removed to prevent recolonization
  • Working within an active commercial environment with safety considerations
  • Preventing damage to surrounding building materials during access

Additionally, any remaining hive material could attract future colonies or lead to structural issues if not fully removed.

Our Approach

Our team—Tim, Tanner, and crew—executed a structured removal process over four days:

  1. Wall Access & Inspection
The exterior wall was carefully opened to expose all hive locations and assess the full extent of the infestation.
  2. Hive Removal & Extraction
Each hive was methodically removed in sections. The team worked through the colony to locate the queen bee, ensuring the colony would not attempt to rebuild.
  3. Material Handling & Framing
Hive sections were carefully handled and framed during removal to maintain control of the structure and prevent spreading.
  4. Complete Interior Clearing
All hive material—including wax and residual organic matter—was removed to eliminate attractants for future bee activity.
  5. Temporary Sealing
After removal, the exposed wall area was securely sealed to prevent immediate re-entry until permanent repairs could be completed by the client.

Results

  • All four bee hives were successfully removed
  • The queen bee was located and extracted, preventing reestablishment
  • The wall cavity was cleared of all hive material
  • The structure was secured with a temporary seal to prevent new access
  • The property was left safe for continued business operations

The client can now proceed with permanent exterior repairs knowing the infestation has been fully addressed.
