Wildlife Works was contacted by new homeowners in Ocala, Florida after they began hearing persistent chirping noises coming from the attic of their newly built home. The sounds were most noticeable during early morning hours and raised concerns about wildlife activity before move-in.
During our attic inspection, we discovered two raccoon kits nesting in the insulation. Additional monitoring confirmed that the adult female raccoon was no longer present, leaving the kits confined to the attic space without the ability to leave on their own.
Raccoon activity in new construction homes throughout Ocala and Marion County is common due to temporary access points created during the building process. Early identification allowed the issue to be resolved before insulation damage or odor issues developed.
Newly constructed homes in Ocala often attract raccoons because of exposed rooflines, unfinished soffits, and low attic disturbance during the final stages of construction. These conditions create ideal denning spaces that can go unnoticed until noise becomes apparent.
This project required:
Delayed or incomplete removal can lead to extended attic contamination and continued wildlife activity, especially during peak raccoon season in Central Florida.
Once it was confirmed that only juvenile raccoons were present, our Ocala-based team proceeded with a structured removal process:
This approach resolved the issue efficiently and allowed the homeowners to move forward with confidence in their new Ocala home.
The project was completed quickly, preventing additional attic damage and eliminating the risk of repeat disturbances.
