A homeowner in Clermont, Florida, contacted Wildlife Works after noticing unusual noises in their attic. Inspection revealed a colony of flying squirrels, significantly smaller than the common eastern gray squirrel, had entered through a hole in the roof soffit.
Unlike gray squirrels, flying squirrels are colony animals, meaning infestations quickly multiply. They also leave communal “latrine” piles that contaminate insulation and drywall. Combined with their constant chewing behavior, they present a serious threat to home safety and structural integrity.
Wildlife Works conducted a same-day removal and exclusion process.
The infestation was cleared in one week, with all flying squirrels excluded and the home secured against future entry. The homeowner no longer experiences nocturnal noises or attic contamination.
