Wildlife Works was called to a commercial property in Clermont, Florida, after a bee colony established a hive within the building’s roof drip edge.
The hive was concealed beneath the roofing membrane and metal edging, making it difficult to access without carefully opening part of the roof’s perimeter.
Our technicians developed a removal approach that allowed them to reach the hive while minimizing unnecessary disruption to the surrounding roofing materials. The entire bee removal project was completed in one day.
Bee colonies can establish hives in concealed areas of commercial buildings, including roof edges, soffits, wall cavities, and other structural openings.
At this Clermont property, the hive was located within the roof’s drip edge, beneath layers of roofing membrane and metal flashing. Removing the bees required carefully disassembling these materials to expose the colony.
Because the hive was integrated into the roof’s perimeter, protecting the building from water intrusion was also an important consideration. The affected area would need temporary protection until qualified roofing professionals could complete permanent repairs.
Wildlife Works technicians carefully disassembled sections of the roofing membrane and metal edging to access the concealed hive.
Once the hive was exposed, our team removed the bees and hive material from the affected area.
Following the removal, the technicians temporarily sealed the opened section of the roof edge to provide interim protection until professional roofers could complete the permanent repair.
This coordinated approach allowed Wildlife Works to address the bee infestation while leaving the specialized roofing restoration to qualified roofing professionals.
The bee hive was successfully accessed and removed from the commercial building during a single-day service visit.
The affected roof edge was temporarily sealed pending permanent repairs by roofing professionals.
The project demonstrates Wildlife Works’ ability to handle concealed bee hives in challenging commercial locations, including areas where structural materials must be carefully opened to complete the removal.
