Black Widow Spider Control Ocala FL

Black Widow & Brown Widow Spider Control in Ocala, Florida

Project Overview

The homeowner was concerned about the presence of venomous spiders around areas where children regularly played and spent time outdoors. During our inspection, we located multiple black widow spiders hiding within decorative landscape planters and identified numerous brown widow egg sacs attached to outdoor furniture, fixtures, and other sheltered locations around the property.

Because both species prefer undisturbed areas and can reproduce rapidly when conditions are favorable, the client wanted a proactive solution to help reduce spider activity and create a safer outdoor environment.

Challenges

Widow spiders are experts at remaining hidden in protected areas around residential properties. The black widows were utilizing landscape planters as harborage sites, while brown widows had established themselves in multiple locations throughout the yard.

The presence of children increased the importance of addressing the issue quickly and thoroughly. Brown widow egg sacs can contain hundreds of developing spiderlings, making early removal critical to preventing future population growth.

Our Approach

Our team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the exterior property, focusing on landscaping features, planters, outdoor furniture, utility areas, and other common spider harborage zones.

Black widow spiders discovered within the planters were treated and removed. We then located and removed brown widow egg sacs found throughout the property to interrupt the reproductive cycle and reduce future spider activity.

Following removal efforts, we applied a targeted perimeter protection treatment around the home’s exterior and key activity areas. The homeowner was also provided with recommendations for reducing future spider harborage, including routine cleaning of sheltered spaces, reducing clutter, and monitoring decorative landscaping features.

Results

The identified black widow activity was eliminated, and numerous brown widow egg sacs were removed before additional spiders could emerge. The perimeter protection treatment helped reduce conditions that support spider activity around the home and provided an additional layer of protection near entry points and family-use areas.

The homeowner gained peace of mind knowing the areas where their children play had been professionally inspected and treated, helping reduce the risk of future encounters with venomous spiders.
