We were called to a property in Pompano Beach after the client reported unusual bee activity in their parking lot, including incidents where bees were interacting aggressively with people. Upon arrival, our technician inspected the area and located a large colony nesting behind a concrete structure.
Accessing the hive required careful cutting into the concrete wall, where we discovered an estimated 70-pound hive—one of the largest we’ve encountered in the region. The colony had developed over time and was contributing to increasingly bold and defensive behavior in the area.
The primary challenge in this project was the colony’s high level of aggression. Even with professional handling techniques and protective gear, the bees were quick to react and required careful control throughout the removal process.
This was further complicated by the hive’s location in a publicly accessible area, where continued bee presence posed a legitimate safety concern to employees and visitors
The hive was successfully removed, and the structure was secured the same day. Our technician was able to manage the hive’s behavior and complete the work without further incident. The client was left with a bee-free property and a clear plan for preventing future swarms from returning to the site.
