A homeowner in The Villages, Florida, contacted Wildlife Works after discovering that a raccoon was accessing the home’s attic through a power attic vent.
Attic vents provide essential ventilation, but when they are not properly protected, they can also become entry points for wildlife. Raccoons are strong, resourceful animals capable of exploiting vulnerable openings along a home’s roofline.
Wildlife Works responded to the property, successfully evicted the raccoon, and installed a protective cover over the power attic vent to help prevent future wildlife entry. The entire project was completed in one day.
Power attic vents can be particularly vulnerable to wildlife intrusion because they are located along the roofline and may have openings or covers that animals can exploit.
At this home, a raccoon had found a way to access the attic through the power vent, creating a potential risk of damage to insulation, wiring, and other materials inside the attic.
Simply removing the raccoon would not resolve the underlying problem. Without securing the vent, the same animal or other wildlife could potentially use the opening again.
The challenge was to safely remove the raccoon and protect the vent without interfering with its intended ventilation function.
Wildlife Works technicians identified the power attic vent as the raccoon’s access point and took steps to safely evict the animal from the attic.
Once the raccoon was removed, our team installed a protective power attic vent cover to secure the opening against future wildlife intrusion.
The exclusion cover provides a physical barrier designed to prevent raccoons and other animals from entering through the vent while allowing the attic ventilation system to continue functioning as intended.
The raccoon was successfully evicted from the attic, and the vulnerable power attic vent was secured with a protective exclusion cover.
The entire project was completed in a single day, providing the homeowner with a practical, long-term solution to the wildlife entry problem.
By addressing both the animal and its access point, Wildlife Works helped reduce the likelihood of future raccoon activity through the same vent.
