A homeowner in the On Top of the World community in Ocala, Florida contacted Wildlife Works after discovering a snake inside their home. Wildlife Works technician Spencer responded to the call and identified the snake as a black racer, a common nonvenomous snake found throughout Central Florida.
Because the snake had made its way indoors, the homeowner needed it safely captured and removed from the home.
Finding a snake inside your home can be alarming, even when the snake is a nonvenomous species such as a black racer. Snakes can move quickly and may hide behind furniture, appliances, storage items, or in other difficult-to-reach areas.
Safe removal requires locating and capturing the snake without injuring it or allowing it to move deeper into the home.
Spencer located the black racer inside the residence and safely captured it using professional snake-handling techniques. The snake was removed from the home without harm to the homeowner or the animal.
The entire project was completed in approximately one hour, allowing the homeowner to quickly return to enjoying their home without an unwanted visitor inside.
The black racer was successfully captured and removed from the residence during a single service visit. Within approximately one hour, the homeowner’s immediate snake problem was resolved and the home was once again snake-free.
