Wildlife Works was contacted for bee removal after store personnel noticed recurring bee activity around the roofline. Upon inspection, our team identified multiple established honey bee colonies embedded within the soffit and insulated sections of the roof. The scale and age of the hive suggested a long-standing colony with access to abundant food sources, leading to expansive honeycomb and significant material saturation.
Honey bees require specific licenses when being removed from commercial structures so Wildlife Works was contacted to perform the work.
Our team began by carefully removing soffit panels to expose the hive and determine its boundaries. Licensed technicians then methodically removed comb, honey, and bees, preserving as much colony integrity as possible for relocation.
Next, we extracted compromised insulation, cleaned internal structures to remove all organic residue, and applied odor-neutralizing agents to discourage other insects from being attracted to the site.
Finally, we repaired the roof area and sealed all potential reentry points using durable exclusion materials suitable for Florida’s climate.
